Indonesia's PTPN IV PalmCo absorbs 1.34 M tons of palm TBS, supporting farmer prices

PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) IV PalmCo reported that it will absorb 1.34 million tonnes of fresh fruit bunches (TBS) from smallholder palm oil growers through May 2026, up from 1.30 million tonnes the previous year. Director Jatmiko K. Santosa said the increased uptake helps keep the market stable and safeguards farmer incomes, adding that the company also supports replanting and Good Agricultural Practices for sustained productivity.

Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman told President Prabowo Subianto that TBS prices at the farm level have begun to recover, with a possible rise of up to 10 percent after a recent slump. The ministry is cooperating with police to investigate 274 companies that failed to adjust farm‑gate prices in line with global crude palm oil (CPO) trends. Approximately 15 million Indonesians rely on the palm sector, making the price stabilization effort critical for rural livelihoods.
