Indonesia's Public Works Ministry Faces Corruption Suspect and Document Leak

Jakarta prosecutors have named a private‑sector director, identified only as JND, as a new suspect in a corruption case involving the Ministry of Public Works. Investigators allege JND orchestrated fictitious projects through multiple companies, causing state losses of more than Rp16 billion. He has been detained pending further inquiry.

The ministry has also launched an internal investigation after a ministerial letter, mentioning the minister’s child and a planned work visit to New York, was leaked on social media. Officials said the probe will identify the source of the leak and determine appropriate disciplinary measures.
