Indonesia expands SIM Keliling mobile driving‑license renewal across Jakarta and nearby regions
Indonesia's police traffic directorates are operating SIM Keliling, a mobile service that lets drivers renew SIM A and SIM C without visiting a Satpas office. In Jakarta, the service ran on 5 July 2026 at three sites – Jalan Raden Mas Intan (East Jakarta), Jalan Panjang (West Jakarta) and Istora Senayan (Central Jakarta) – from 07:00 to 12:00, with extended hours at the Istora site until 18:00. Additional locations in the greater metropolitan area, such as Mall Grand Cakung, LTC Glodok, Kampus Trilogi Kalibata, Mall Artha Gading and Pos Lapangan Banteng, hosted the service on 6 and 7 July 2026.
Outside Jakarta, the program was offered in Bantul (several dates in July, including Manding, Gilangharjo, Wukirsari and the provincial archive office), Yogyakarta (Alun‑alun Kidul, Jogja City Mall and Ramai Mall), Kulonprogo (Satpas, MPP and night‑time “SIM Menor” sites), and Sleman (Satpas, MPP, police outposts and Saturday night “Simeru” sessions). All locations required original and photocopied KTP, a valid SIM, a health certificate and a psychology‑test result. Fees were Rp 80 000 for SIM A, C and B1/B2, and Rp 30 000 for SIM D, exclusive of health and test charges. Because daily quotas are limited, drivers were urged to arrive early.
The initiative aims to reduce congestion at traditional licensing offices and improve public‑service accessibility.
