Indonesia's social run events draw crowds in Surabaya and Jakarta

Zuper Group held its inaugural Zuper Runfest 2026, a 5K fun run at Zuper Hall Dharmahusada in Surabaya on 26 July 2026. Owner Hendra Susanto said the event is part of a sport‑entertainment strategy to broaden a healthy‑living ecosystem. Registration far exceeded expectations, with nearly 400 runners signing up against a target of 350, prompting the event to reach capacity. The company plans a larger half‑marathon in March 2027 in collaboration with Carabau.

On the same day, Jakarta hosted Youniverse Active Day: RUN & RAVE in the Sudirman district. More than 1,200 people signed up within a week, and 200 participants completed a five‑kilometre route that began at FX Sudirman. The event emphasized a social‑run format, including a warm‑up session with No Pace Club, interactive games, and a morning rave featuring DJ Kevintyo. Both events illustrate the growing trend of running as a community‑building, low‑barrier activity in Indonesia.
