Indonesia's Welding Industry Forms New Association APPI

The Asosiasi Pengusaha Pengelasan Indonesia (APPI) was officially declared as a nationwide body that brings together welding entrepreneurs from across Indonesia. Founder and first chair Budi Harta Winata said APPI will raise the level of welding workshops, improve standards, certify workers, digitise businesses and expand the use of domestically‑made products.

Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman urged local firms to act as hosts in their own country, emphasizing that stronger capacity, higher competitiveness and close government‑business collaboration are essential for the sector’s growth. APPI aims to work with ministries, educational institutions, state‑owned enterprises and the private sector to build a modern, quality‑driven welding industry and create more jobs.
