Indoor plants for effective air purification
Certain indoor plants can effectively improve air quality in modern living spaces, particularly in apartments with limited ventilation or small windows. These plants help mitigate dust, odors, and chemical compounds from furniture.
Snake plants are noted for their ability to remove toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene, xylene, toluene, and trichloroethylene, while also absorbing CO2 and releasing oxygen at night. Peace lilies are effective at filtering formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene, and ammonia from cigarette smoke or electronics. Other beneficial plants include pothos, which grows quickly and is easy to maintain, and ferns, which thrive in humid environments with light shade.
