Indore Municipal Corporation prepares Daly College for RSS event
The Indore Municipal Corporation has initiated extensive cleaning and infrastructure repairs around Daly College in preparation for a large-scale Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) gathering scheduled for October 28. The event is expected to bring together approximately one lakh volunteers to mark the conclusion of a series of programs held during the organization's centenary year.
Municipal Commissioner Kshitij Singhal has directed officials to resolve local issues and organize the area. Recent efforts include patch-working road potholes and implementing a comprehensive sanitation campaign. Officials, including Additional Commissioner Abhay Rajgankwar, have instructed contractors to expedite work to ensure the area is prepared for the influx of attendees.
Separately, the upcoming event has reignited political debate regarding the history of Daly College. Following comments by Congress leader Digvijay Singh, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia noted that the institution was established by the Scindia family. Historical records indicate that the Scindia family provided the largest financial contribution of five lakh rupees toward the construction of the 118-acre campus, which was inaugurated in 1916.
