Indore Police arrest two foreign nationals in Mumbai drug trafficking case

Indore Police have arrested two foreign nationals in Mumbai's Nala Sopara area as part of a drug trafficking investigation. The arrests follow the initial apprehension of a Nigerian woman, Immuneal Joy, who was caught on August 30 with 58 grams of narcotics.

Investigations into Joy's mobile phone led authorities to Nakizwe Kavuma, a Ugandan woman, and Nakaizave Kavuma, a Nigerian man, both of whom were arrested for aiding the smuggling operation. Police noted that Joy had entered India on a seven-month visa and had previously been arrested in Bengaluru in 2024 for possessing 121 grams of narcotics. Despite court orders prohibiting her from leaving the country, she allegedly continued her involvement with the smuggling ring.

Authorities stated that the suspects utilized business and tourist visas to facilitate their activities. The Nala Sopara area, which houses a large community of foreign nationals, has been a focus of previous operations by excise and narcotics departments targeting similar smuggling syndicates.
