Indore: Police rescue driver trapped in burning car

A driver was seriously injured after his car caught fire while driving near Choithram Chauraha in Indore, India, on Saturday. The vehicle, identified as a Ritz, was reportedly engulfed in flames due to a suspected short circuit.

The driver, Rupesh Yadav, became trapped inside the vehicle as the automatic locking system prevented the doors and windows from opening. He remained trapped in the fire for approximately one to one and a half minutes.

Traffic police officers from Zone-4, led by TI Sumit Bilonia, arrived at the scene and broke the car windows to rescue the driver. While transporting him to Choithram Hospital in a loading rickshaw, officers performed continuous CPR to stabilize his condition. Yadav sustained burns estimated between 40 and 60 percent and remains under medical treatment. Traffic Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Tripathi commended the rescue team for their swift response and sensitivity.
