Indore Police Staged Fake Plaster on Criminals, Video Sparks Corruption Probe

A video circulating on social media shows officers of the Indore Police Department attaching a fake plaster and restraints to two suspects before parading them in a public procession. The footage later captures the suspects removing the plaster just outside a district jail, contradicting police claims that the men were injured while escaping a car‑burglary incident.

Local media reports allege that the police extracted a bribe of about 20,000 rupees from the suspects for the staged display. Senior officials, including Addl. DCP Rajesh Dandotia, have taken note of the viral video and ordered a detailed investigation into the police actions and the alleged corruption. No official response has confirmed the bribery claim, and the inquiry’s outcome will determine any disciplinary measures.

The incident has prompted public outrage in Indore and raised questions about police accountability and procedural integrity in Madhya Pradesh.
