Indore Smart City road collapses during water pipeline testing

A significant section of a road in the Gorakund area of Indore collapsed during the testing of a newly installed water pipeline. The road was part of the Indore Smart City Project, which involved a construction budget of approximately 40 crore rupees.

CCTV footage captured the moment the road gave way. As water pressure increased during the pipeline testing, water burst from beneath the surface, eroding the soil and causing the pavement to cave in. No injuries or vehicle damage were reported as no commuters were present at the time of the incident.

The collapse has raised serious questions regarding the quality of construction materials and the technical oversight of the Smart City Project. Local residents have expressed concerns that the high-budget infrastructure failed during its initial testing phase. Authorities have ordered an investigation into the cause of the failure and the conduct of the responsible agencies.
