Indore temple display controversy involves accidental religious content

A controversy erupted in Indore during Janmashtami celebrations when Quranic verses appeared on a digital display board outside the Banke Bihari Temple. The incident occurred when religious content written in Urdu flashed on the screen, which was intended to display Janmashtami-related messages.

Preliminary police investigations suggest the incident was caused by technical negligence rather than a conspiracy. Authorities found that the display operator was using a single pen drive containing content for various different religious events. This led to the wrong file being played during the temple festivities.

ADCP Crime Rajesh Dandotiya stated that initial findings show no offensive slogans or provocative messages were displayed. The operator immediately replaced the content with Janmashtami messages once the error was noticed. Police are currently investigating the person responsible for the display board and the specific process used to upload the content to determine accountability.
