Indosol Solar and ANU partner to develop advanced TOPCon solar cells
Indosol Solar and the Australian National University (ANU) have entered into a memorandum of understanding and collaboration agreement to advance next-generation tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cell technologies.
The partnership aims to bridge the gap between laboratory research and commercial-scale manufacturing. ANU will provide photovoltaic research expertise to co-develop advanced TOPCon cell architectures, while Indosol Solar will utilize its giga-scale manufacturing facilities in Andhra Pradesh, India, to validate and optimize these designs for mass production.
Key research objectives include increasing solar cell conversion efficiency and enhancing resistance to light-induced and ultraviolet-induced degradation. By improving long-term performance and energy output, the collaboration seeks to lower the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) for both domestic and international photovoltaic markets. The initiative is facilitated through the India Australia Technology Commercialisation Challenge Pilot Program.
