Indra Group donates computers to rural school in Cabildo, Chile

The Chilean Association of ICT Companies (ACTI), together with the IPYME network and technology firm Indra Group, delivered ten refurbished computers to the Escuela Unidocente G‑47 “El Guayacán” in the rural commune of Cabildo, Petorca province. The donation, presented at the Colegio de Ingenieros, is part of a circular‑economy initiative that gives a second life to assets no longer used by the companies and aims to narrow the digital divide in remote communities.

School director Patricio Vilches, who was selected among the world’s 50 best teachers for the Global Teacher Prize, said the computers will greatly improve digital literacy for his students, many of whom come from families raising goats in the area. Indra’s public‑administration manager Federico Burgos highlighted the social responsibility role of firms in re‑using technology for community benefit.
