Indra to supply long-range radar to Thailand

Indra has secured a contract to supply a new long-range LANZA 3D radar to the Royal Thai Air Force. The system will be deployed at Phuket Air Base, a location of strategic importance situated near major maritime routes connecting the Indian Ocean and the Strait of Malacca.

This marks the third LANZA 3D radar contracted by the Thai Air Force from Indra. The agreement also includes the AirDef command and control platform, which allows for the management of information captured by the radar to supervise airspace. The LANZA 3D LRR is designed to detect a wide range of targets, including small drones, stealth aircraft, projectiles, and missiles, even in high-humidity environments or saturated combat scenarios.

The contract was signed at Indra’s headquarters in Madrid during a visit by Thai authorities. While the specific financial value of the agreement has not been disclosed, the deployment is part of Thailand’s ongoing air surveillance and modernization program.
