Indragiri Hilir Regent launches religious program and addresses local community concerns
Indragiri Hilir Regent Herman has launched the ‘Subuh Keliling’ (Suling) program, an initiative aimed at strengthening religious values among civil servants (ASN) and fostering closer ties between the local government and the community. The program, which began at the Al-Ghulam Mosque, involves officials participating in congregational dawn prayers every Friday.
In a separate regional visit to Sungai Buluh Village in the Kuala Indragiri district, Regent Herman met with residents to discuss local challenges. Community members raised concerns regarding coconut prices, infrastructure needs such as embankments, school revitalization, and the necessity of fishing equipment and fuel for local fishermen. The Regent noted that while regional finances are limited, the government aims to ensure continuous development across the wide territory, including the potential development of Sungai Buluh as a ‘Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih’ (Red and White Fishing Village).
