Indramayu farmers see increased profits from higher rice yields and grain prices

Farmers in Indramayu, West Java, are experiencing increased profits during the 2026 dry season harvest due to rising grain prices and improved yields. Average harvests are currently exceeding seven tons per hectare, with some areas reaching 9.5 tons per hectare where water supply was sufficient. Grain prices are significantly higher than government purchase prices (HPP), with harvested dry grain (GKP) trading between Rp 8,500 and Rp 9,000 per kilogram, and milled dry grain (GKG) reaching approximately Rp 9,500 per kilogram.

In Jatisura Village, the 'Jari Tangan' program—a collaboration between PT Pertamina EP Jatibarang Field, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, and local agricultural agencies—has led to substantial productivity gains. Harvested dry grain productivity in the area rose to 10.60 tons per hectare, a 61.6 percent increase from previous levels. The program focuses on sustainable practices, including the use of biological agents, organic fertilizers, and natural pesticides to strengthen farmer capacity and land productivity.
