inDrive launches parcel insurance in Nigeria and calls for tech talent investment
inDrive has launched a free parcel coverage feature in Nigeria for eligible business users of its Courier service. The initiative provides protection of up to ₦50,000 against loss or damage during transit, aiming to mitigate financial risks for small businesses utilizing last-mile deliveries.
To claim coverage, users must contact inDrive Customer Support via the app within 48 hours of parcel pickup. Claims are typically reviewed within three to seven days, with refunds issued within 14 days for eligible claims. The service includes real-time tracking and courier verification through government database identity checks.
Separately, during the GITEX Nigeria 2026 event in Lagos, inDrive Nigeria Country Manager Timothy Oladimeji called for increased private sector investment in Nigerian technology talent. He emphasized the need for a stronger ecosystem to connect skilled professionals with employers and capital, urging companies to provide practical experience and internal learning resources to help bridge the gap between training and industry application.
