Induction cooktop control panels at risk from heat exposure
A common cooking habit can lead to the paralysis of induction cooktop control panels. Users often place hot pots on the glass surface near the control area, mistakenly assuming the entire glass surface is heat-resistant.
While the cooking zones are designed for heat transfer, the control panel houses sensitive electronic microcircuits that only operate safely within specific temperature limits. Manufacturers such as Bosch and Electrolux identify placing hot items on the control panel as a primary cause of overheating and device damage.
On certain Bosch models, detecting heat too close to the controls triggers an F5 error code and an audible warning. To prevent damage, the cooking zone may automatically shut down. If an error occurs, users should immediately move the hot cookware away and allow the unit to cool down before resuming use.
