Industrial and surveying firms expand UK operations

Two industrial and specialist service firms are expanding their operations within the United Kingdom.

Academy Geomatics, a geospatial surveying specialist headquartered in Gateshead, has opened a new operational base in Warrington at Craven Court. The move aims to support growing demand from clients in the North West. The firm plans to grow its initial six-person team to approximately 20 staff over the next two years, with long-term goals of moving to larger premises capable of housing 50–60 employees. The site will focus on topographical surveys, measured building surveys, and underground utility mapping.

ASCO, an industrial operations management firm, has established a new base at the Wilton Centre near Redcar. This North East hub is intended to support activities in the region’s energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, including Net Zero Teesside and offshore windfarms such as Hornsea 3 and Dogger Bank. The office will oversee operations across central UK and the North East, focusing on decarbonisation, defence, and marine logistics.
