Industrial Defender launches network monitoring for CIP-015 compliance
Industrial Defender, an operational technology (OT) cybersecurity firm, has released a new version of its platform featuring internal network security monitoring (INSM) and a new Risk Signal feature. The update is designed to help critical infrastructure providers meet the FERC-approved NERC CIP-015-1 standard, which requires entities managing high and medium impact Bulk Electric System (BES) Cyber Systems to monitor internal network traffic and detect anomalies.
The INSM solution establishes baseline communications for devices and flags deviations such as unexpected protocols, new connections, or anomalous traffic volumes. By correlating network traffic with existing endpoint intelligence—including configuration changes and vulnerabilities—the platform aims to provide operators with prioritized remediation plans and audit-ready evidence for regulatory compliance.
