Industrial expansions underway at Crilelmar and Mondelez facilities in Romania
Two major industrial expansions are progressing in Romania, focusing on production capacity and job creation.
In Târgu Jiu, Crilelmar is nearing the completion of a 15.5 million euro investment in a new plastic mass factory. The project, which includes 8 million euros from the European Union’s Sustainable Development and Just Transition Program, involves constructing a new 7,200 square meter industrial hall, installing a photovoltaic power plant, and acquiring modern equipment. This expansion is expected to double production, quadruple recycling capacity, and create 71 new jobs.
In Clinceni, Mondelez is planning to increase production capacity at its manufacturing site. Following previous investments in automation and energy efficiency, the company intends to recruit approximately 100 additional employees next year. Mondelez has also developed a photovoltaic park on-site, with the second phase expected in 2026, aiming to cover roughly 30% of the facility's energy consumption with green energy. The company also announced plans to launch a new product on a second production line following current testing phases.
