Industrial fire at Gnutti Carlo Group facility in Södra Vi

A fire broke out at an industrial facility in Södra Vi, within the Vimmerby municipality, affecting the Gnutti Carlo Group's Metallfabriken Ljunghäll site. The blaze was reported at approximately 08:21.

According to site manager Hugo Petersson, the fire originated in a filter and associated piping system that supplies the foundry. Emergency services localized the fire to a ventilation pipe. While the fire was extinguished by 10:30, crews continued work to prevent smoldering embers from reigniting.

Production at the facility was halted and staff were evacuated. No injuries have been reported.
