Industrial fires cause significant damage in Yucatán

Large-scale industrial fires have been reported in the Yucatán region, specifically affecting facilities along the Valladolid-Cancún and Valladolid-Ticuch highways.

In one incident near kilometer 164 of the Valladolid-Cancún highway, a fire broke out in an industrial complex, causing significant material damage. The blaze consumed parts of a warehouse and metal structures used as a mechanical workshop, destroying tools and several operational vehicles. Firefighters from the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública (SSP) worked to control the flames and perform cooling operations on a nearby tanker truck to prevent leaks. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

A second major fire occurred at a facility specializing in emulsions and polymers located near the Universidad Modelo on the Valladolid-Ticuch road. The fire produced a massive smoke column and damaged electrical cables belonging to the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). Emergency response efforts involved the SSP, municipal police, and the Mexican Army, with additional firefighting support arriving from Tizimín and Izamal to contain the blaze.
