Industrial fires reported in Lebrija and Ponteareas
Two separate industrial fires have occurred in Spain. In Lebrija, a fire broke out in the early hours of the morning at a warehouse measuring between 2,000 and 3,000 square meters. The facility was storing approximately one million kilograms of cotton. Firefighters from Lebrija, Los Palacios, and Utrera were deployed to combat the flames, which primarily affected the rear of the building. No personal injuries have been reported, and the isolated location of the warehouse prevented the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
In Ponteareas, a fire erupted at an agricultural machinery and supply warehouse located on the N120 highway. The blaze produced a dense column of black smoke, prompting an urgent health warning from the local council due to the risk of toxic gases. Two workers required medical attention after inhaling smoke during the initial stages of the incident. Emergency services managed to control the fire, preventing it from spreading to adjacent commercial dealerships, though crews remained on-site to cool the structure and extinguish secondary hotspots.
