Industrial investment rises in Khuzestan as Sistan and Baluchestan launches date export consortium

Khuzestan Province has achieved an excellent ranking in small and medium enterprise (SME) investment, a distinction previously held by provinces such as Tehran, Alborz, Qazvin, Qom, and Isfahan. Mehdi Chenani, CEO of the Khuzestan Industrial Estates Company, noted that through synergy and facilitation, 75 percent of the required investment resources for the private sector in industrial towns were realized in the first six months of the year.

In the Andimeshk Industrial Town, projects include a sugar refining and candy production plant, as well as a major wastewater treatment plant estimated at 300 billion tomans. Additionally, 30 billion tomans will be allocated for road construction to support local industrialists.

In Sistan and Baluchestan, the province has registered its first date export consortium, named ‘Khousheh Nakhl Saravan’. The consortium aims to provide subsidies, training, and technological support to farmers. Recent efforts to expand international markets saw producers attend a food industry exhibition in Russia, resulting in the sale of 300 tons of ‘Rabi’ dates for 560 billion rials.
