Industrial modernization and productivity challenges in Spain

Economic discussions in Spain and Catalonia are focusing on industrial modernization and the challenges of productivity. While the gap has narrowed since 2013, current growth rates suggest that the relative productivity loss accumulated between 1986 and 2000 may not be fully recovered until 2050 unless growth rates significantly increase.
