Industrial technology and mining innovation highlighted in regional developments

In Argentina, the Polo Tecnológico La Nube, in collaboration with the Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos (UADER), hosted a technical training session focused on the intelligent management of electric motors. Led by an engineer from Schneider Electric, the workshop provided professionals and students with updates on industrial maintenance technologies, including soft starters, variable speed drives, and predictive maintenance tools like ATV Predict and SoMove.

In Chile, the mining company Collahuasi participated in the CIMIT 2026 event in Iquique. The company showcased technological innovations, including the use of high-tonnage truck simulators and virtual reality for worker training. Collahuasi also presented its Trolley Assist project, a solution designed to use electrical energy to assist extraction trucks on uphill sections, aiming to reduce diesel consumption and emissions while increasing operational efficiency.
