Industrias San Miguel launches entrepreneurship programs in Dominican Republic
Industrias San Miguel (ISM) is implementing strategic initiatives in the Dominican Republic to support local entrepreneurs and retail workers. Through programs such as ‘Transformando Vidas’ and ‘Mejorando mi colmado’, the company provides training, mentorship, and access to seed capital to help transform business ideas into sustainable projects.
The ‘Transformando Vidas’ initiative, which is being executed in collaboration with the Jorge Añaños & Tania Alcázar Higher Education Institute, is currently supporting 125 participants in both the Dominican Republic and Peru. The program utilizes the CREA Model to provide academic training and follows a four-phase process: methodological design, training sessions, a project competition via elevator pitches, and personalized business mentorship.
Additionally, the company aims to modernize the retail sector by training over 750 ‘colmaderos’ (small grocery store owners) to improve commercial management and local economic development.
