Indy Jazz Fest returns to Indianapolis this September

The Indy Jazz Fest is scheduled to return to Indianapolis from September 22 to 26. The festival will utilize an “All Around Town” format, hosting performances at various local venues including The Jazz Kitchen, The Cabaret, and The Vogue, concluding with a Grand Finale at the Indy Art Center and Opti Park.

The lineup features a mix of international and national performers such as Sheila E. & The E-Train, MonoNeon, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Rick Braun, and Grammy Award-winning drummer Nate Smith. The Grand Finale on September 26 will include two stages, food trucks, and Indy Jazz Legacy exhibits.

In anticipation of the festival, a local classical channel is hosting a special streaming week featuring jazz. This programming highlights local jazz pianist and composer Gary Walters, showcasing his diverse career as a performer, educator, and recording artist in Indiana.
