Alex Palou clinches fourth straight IndyCar pole at Gateway
Alex Palou secured his fourth consecutive NTT INDYCAR SERIES pole at World Wide Technology Raceway (Gateway) for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500, posting a two‑lap average of 174.353 mph. The pole – his 17th career – makes him the first driver since Will Power in 2011 to win four straight poles. Palou, who led the championship by 62 points over Kyle Kirkwood, said the car was “on rails” and highlighted the significance of achieving a pole at a venue where he had previously struggled.
David Malukas, qualifying second with a 173.244 mph average, expressed no disappointment despite losing provisional pole, praising his team’s work and the improving track conditions. The front row will therefore start with Palou, Malukas, and Kirkwood, followed by Felix Rosenqvist, Scott McLaughlin and others. Betting odds list Palou as the short‑odds favorite (2/3) for the race, underscoring his dominant form heading into the event.
