INE allows early voter ID registration for youth in Coahuila

In Coahuila, the National Electoral Institute (INE) has announced that young people who will turn 18 before June 6 can now begin the process of obtaining their voter identification card, even if they are currently minors.

Jesús Hernández Murillo, an official from the INE's 03 District Board, stated that this initiative is part of the Annual Intense Campaign. He warned that registration processes will be suspended in February, so those turning 18 in March, April, or May should apply immediately to ensure they can participate in upcoming elections.

The INE reports that the electoral roll is currently near 98 percent updated. In addition to new registrations, modules are processing data updates, replacements, and address changes. In Monclova, citizens can visit the service module on Guerrero Street without a prior appointment, provided they present a birth certificate, proof of residence, official identification, and CURP.
