INE Transparency Commission resolves legal resources against Morena and Movimiento Ciudadano

The Transparency, Access to Information, and Personal Data Protection Commission of Mexico's National Electoral Institute (INE) has resolved three review resources involving the political parties Morena and Movimiento Ciudadano.

Regarding Morena, the commission revoked the party's previous response concerning requests for digital tax receipts (CFDI). The party had provided fee contracts instead of the requested fiscal documents for payments made to three members of its national leadership. The commission has instructed Morena to conduct an exhaustive search for the digital receipts and issue a new, legally substantiated response.

In the case involving Movimiento Ciudadano, the commission decided to dismiss the resource. The request sought the party's stance and actions regarding a local official allegedly linked to illicit activities. The commission determined that the inquiry constituted a request for opinions or positions rather than a request for documented information held by the party.
