INEFC students hospitalized following hazing in La Seu d'Urgell

Four students at the Institut Nacional d'Educació Física de Catalunya (INEFC) in La Seu d'Urgell were hospitalized due to acute alcohol poisoning following a hazing ritual. The incident occurred during an event organized by second-year Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CAFE) students to welcome first-year students.

One of the affected students is a minor. The hospital involved was the Fundació Sant Hospital de la Seu. INEFC Director General Eduard Inglés stated that the institution has strictly prohibited such activities for six years and emphasized that the event took place outside of school hours and off-campus. While the institution has disassociated itself from the organization of the event, officials are considering disciplinary measures.

The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened an investigation after being alerted by the hospital's emergency services. The findings will be transferred to the court in La Seu d'Urgell should the families or affected individuals decide to file formal complaints.
