INEFI launches athletics training for physical education teachers

The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) has commenced practical athletics clinics designed for physical education teachers in Santo Domingo. The initiative aims to strengthen technical and methodological competencies, providing educators with tools to promote athletics within school centers.

Led by Executive Director Alberto Rodríguez Mella, the training sessions took place at the School Sports Initiation Center (CIDE) of the Hogar Escuela Santo Domingo Savio. The workshops feature instruction from recognized coach José Ludwing Rubio, technician Jorge Montes, and four-time Central American and Caribbean champion Liranyi Alonso.

The program is part of the National Program for the Detection and Development of School Athletics Talent. This multi-regional pilot project seeks to enhance athletics instruction in schools and create opportunities to identify and develop the sporting capabilities of children and adolescents through safe, inclusive, and dynamic activities.
