Venezuela's INCES launches textile training to aid La Guaira earthquake survivors
The regional management of Venezuela’s Instituto Nacional de Capacitación y Educación Socialista (INCES) has joined humanitarian efforts for people affected by the double earthquake that struck La Guaira in June. In collaboration with the Mujeres Productivas program and a textile initiative, INCES organized a training course focused on producing intimate clothing for women and girls who survived the disaster. Program leader Jacabel Vargas explained that participants will learn to cut, stitch and finish garments using provided patterns and materials. INCES president Wuikelman Ángel Paredes directed regional centers to allocate resources for this effort, and the regional manager Glorimar Torrealba confirmed the supply of necessary inputs. Volunteers are invited to join the production line at the Argimiro Gabaldón Socialist Training Center in San Carlos.
The activity aims to combine skill development with direct assistance, offering both livelihood training and essential clothing to those still coping with the earthquake’s aftermath.
