INEGI report: Mexican adolescents report highest life satisfaction
According to the 2026 Self-Reported Well-being Module (BIARE) from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the Mexican population reported an average life satisfaction score of 8.75 out of 10. This marks an increase from the 8.65 recorded in 2025, continuing an upward trend observed since 2013.
Data shows that adolescents aged 12 to 17 are the most satisfied group, with an average score of 9.39. In contrast, individuals aged 75 and older reported the lowest satisfaction level at 8.38. Regarding gender, men recorded an average satisfaction of 8.83 compared to 8.68 for women, though women in the 60 to 74 age bracket reported higher satisfaction than men.
Among the 13 specific aspects of daily life evaluated, the freedom to make decisions about one's own life received the highest rating (9.18), followed by family relationships (9.04). Public safety was identified as the lowest-rated aspect, with an average score of 6.44.
