Turkey prepares for widespread Victory Day celebrations
Turkey is preparing for widespread celebrations marking the 104th anniversary of Victory Day and the Great Offensive. Events are scheduled across numerous cities, including Zonguldak, Samsun, Bursa, Eskişehir, and Istanbul. Programs feature official ceremonies, wreath-laying at Atatürk monuments, military parades, and historical panels.
Cultural festivities are also prominent, with various municipalities organizing public concerts, lantern processions, and local festivals. In cities like Kahramanmaraş, large-scale concerts have drawn massive crowds, while other regions are hosting sports championships and cultural exhibitions to honor the historical significance of the August victories.
In Cyprus, official ceremonies including wreath-laying and military parades are planned in Lefkoşa, Gazimağusa, and Girne. Additionally, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that several major rail and metro lines will provide free transportation on August 30 to facilitate public participation in the celebrations.
