INF Group claims cyberattack on Croatian financial and medical systems
The INF Group, a hacking collective believed to operate from Serbia, has claimed responsibility for cyberattacks targeting Croatian infrastructure. According to cybersecurity expert Leon Juranić, the group has posted claims on a dark web forum regarding the compromise of the Croatian financial platform FinInfo.hr and an unidentified medical institution.
The group alleges it has leaked approximately 34,000 business records and 9,000 individual records, which reportedly include sensitive patient data and medical diagnoses. This follows a previous incident involving the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO), where the group claimed to have accessed personal identification numbers and contact details; however, HZMO stated that its services and pension payments remained unaffected.
Separately, cybersecurity researchers have issued warnings regarding various digital threats in the region, including sophisticated spoofing techniques used to impersonate banks and institutions, as well as fraudulent websites designed to mimic legitimate software download pages for popular games and programs.
