Infant dies during medical transfer from Campeche to Yucatán

IMSS-Bienestar has confirmed the death of a newborn, Emma, who suffered severe complications during a medical transfer between Campeche and Yucatán. The infant was being moved from the Hospital Dr. Manuel Campos in Campeche to the Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad de Yucatán in Mérida to receive specialized treatment for a complex congenital heart disease.

During the transit near the municipality of Tenabo, the infant's condition deteriorated significantly, forcing medical personnel to abort the transfer and return to the original hospital. Despite emergency medical interventions and advanced resuscitation efforts, the infant passed away around midday on Friday. IMSS-Bienestar issued a statement expressing condolences to the family and noted they are maintaining communication with them regarding the medical care provided.
