Baby kidnapped in Campo Grande rescued in Paraguay

A joint operation between Brazilian and Paraguayan police forces successfully rescued a 26 to 28-day-old baby, identified as Ayla Emanuelly, who had been kidnapped in Campo Grande, Brazil.

The kidnapping occurred after a woman lured the baby's 17-year-old mother to a residence in the Bairro Universitário using a fake job offer. The mother and her 12-year-old sister were reportedly drugged and threatened by a group of men during the incident.

Following an intelligence exchange between the two nations, authorities tracked the suspects to Pedro Juan Caballero, Paraguay. During a raid on a residence, police found the infant and arrested a Brazilian couple. One of the suspects was reportedly using a false identity and had a prior conviction for homicide in Brazil. The baby was taken to a regional hospital for medical evaluation before being returned to Brazilian authorities. The suspects were expelled from Paraguay to face legal proceedings in Brazil.
