Infanta Sofía moves to Paris for university studies
Infanta Sofía, the youngest daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, is relocating to Paris this September to continue her university studies. Following the completion of her first year in Lisbon, she will begin her second year of a degree in Political Science and International Relations at Forward College, a private institution affiliated with the University of London.
To maintain a sense of normalcy, the Infanta reportedly applied to the college using her civil name, Sofía de Borbón Ortiz, without leveraging her royal status during the admissions process. Boris Walbaum, the founder of the institution, noted that she underwent the same evaluations and criteria as other international applicants.
During her time in Paris, she will reside at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, a multicultural residential complex. While she will have official protection, it is intended to operate discreetly to preserve her privacy and allow for a standard student routine. She has expressed her intention to continue fulfilling her institutional responsibilities in Spain despite her studies abroad.
