Inferno 2026 outdoor theater show slated for Sicily’s Alcantara Valley
The summer edition of the open‑air production “Inferno 2026” is being prepared on the banks of the Alcantara River in Sicily. Francesco Russo Morosoli, CEO of Gole Alcantara srl, said the project Alkantia is coordinated with the producers of Buongiorno Sicilia, the mayors of Motta Camastra (Carmelo Blancato) and Castiglione di Sicilia (Concetto Stagnitti), and the river‑park president Carmelo Calabrò. The production will feature Luigi Nicotra as Dante Alighieri, supported by the ensemble that has built the show’s reputation since 2018. A press preview is scheduled for 21 July, followed by the public debut on 23 July. Organisers also aim to secure UNESCO recognition for the Valle dell’Alcantara, highlighting its small gorges and “Gurne” as cultural‑natural assets.
The effort is presented as a synergistic boost for local tourism and territorial development, with online ticket sales already rising.
