Inferno 2026 theatrical show in Gole dell’Alcantara draws sold‑out crowds

The outdoor production "Inferno 2026" staged in the Gole dell’Alcantara is directed by Giovanni Anfuso and produced by Buongiorno Sicilia. After resuming replications on 21 July, the first week sold out all performances, prompting strong praise from audiences and industry observers.

Critic Matteo Licari highlighted the new, empathetic portrayal of Dante by actor Luigi Nicotra, calling the performance “movimentista.” Other commentators, including tourism entrepreneur Attilio Cappellani and Assostampa Sicilia vice‑secretary Filippo Romeo, stressed the value of site‑specific shows and public‑private synergy.

The show also features fresh choreography and new interpretations of characters such as Ulisse and Farinata, contributing to its growing popularity across Sicily.
