Infineon expands PSOC Control C3 family with secure MCUs

Infineon Technologies has expanded its PSOC Control C3 microcontroller family with the introduction of the PSC3M/P6 series. These new microcontrollers are designed to manage up to four brushless DC motors using a single device, supporting both sensored and sensorless control.

Built around an Arm Cortex-M33 core operating at up to 180 MHz, the devices integrate multi-motor control with power conversion capabilities. They are intended for high-performance applications requiring fast control loops, such as industrial drives, robotics, renewable energy systems, drones, and data centers.

A key feature of the PSC3M/P6 series is its advanced security, specifically its support for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) requirements. The microcontrollers align with the Commercial National Security Algorithm (CNSA) Suite 2.0 and support Level 3 of the Platform Security Architecture (PSA), helping manufacturers prepare for emerging cybersecurity standards like the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
