Australian mining companies report resource growth and production milestones
Several Australian mining companies have reported significant operational developments. Moonlight Resources has commenced a targeted four-hole, 500-metre diamond drilling program at its Leo Grande gold prospect in central Queensland. This phase aims to provide orientated core for metallurgical testwork and geological modelling to support a forthcoming maiden mineral resource estimate.
In New South Wales, Larvotto Resources has transitioned to active production at its Hillgrove mine. The facility is now producing both gold and antimony, positioning the company as Australia’s largest antimony producer. The mine is expected to supply approximately seven per cent of global antimony demand and over half of the supply available outside of China-controlled sources.
Additionally, Great Southern Mining has identified potential for a northern extension at its Mon Ami project in Western Australia. Recent reverse-circulation drilling at the Blanc Plat prospect struck shallow gold, suggesting a second growth front north of the existing 1.56-million-tonne resource.
