Infinitæ Association advocates for medical sport prescriptions in cancer care

Rachele Zeppilli, president of the Infinitæ association, has issued a formal appeal to institutions to integrate adapted physical activity into official oncological treatment pathways. Following the ‘Donne in rosa, medaglie azzurre’ conference in Porto Sant’Elpidio, the initiative seeks to transform physical exercise from a voluntary option into a supervised medical prescription.

The proposed model aims to support patients from diagnosis through post-hospitalization. Key requests include enhancing professional training, identifying certified spaces for specific motor exercises, and creating a regional registry of authorized sports facilities to overcome the current fragmentation of services.

In Italy, where there are approximately 395,000 new annual diagnoses and 3.7 million oncological cases, the project aims to ensure that rehabilitation is a concrete guarantee rather than a burden left to the private sector or third-party organizations.
