Czech and Slovak municipalities complete various urban and cultural restoration projects
Various municipalities across the Czech Republic and Slovakia are completing significant infrastructure and cultural restoration projects. In Znojmo, a former military riding school has been transformed into a modern social center with a hall for 800 visitors. Krnov has completed a major reconstruction of its historic Sokolovna building, while Česká Budějovice has expanded its sports and leisure areas near the Vltava river.
Healthcare and education sectors are also seeing improvements, including a new 270 million CZK internal medicine pavilion in Krumlov Hospital and an expansion of nursery school capacity in Trutnov. In Sokolov, investments are targeting medical facilities and residential housing. In Slovakia, the Ministry of Culture has begun the first stage of restoring the Pálffy family funeral chapel at Červený Kameň Castle to prevent further structural decay.
Other notable urban updates include the revitalization of Komenského Park in Kolín, the restoration of the historic Kamenná street in Cheb, and the modernization of the Jablonec nad Nisou reservoir facilities. Additionally, the Budil Villa in Kostelec nad Černými lesy is undergoing a sensitive restoration to preserve its functionalist character.
