Infleqtion secures US, UK and Australian quantum sensing contracts and $100 million CHIPS Act funding
Infleqtion (ticker INFQ) became the first publicly listed neutral‑atom quantum technology company in February 2026, raising over $550 million through a SPAC merger and debuting on the New York Stock Exchange. The firm operates two revenue‑generating divisions: a quantum‑computing line featuring the Sqale neutral‑atom system, and a quantum‑sensing line that sells the Quantum Spectrum RF‑sensing platform to defense customers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
In May 2026 the U.S. Department of Commerce signed a letter of intent for $100 million in CHIPS Act funding, taking an equity stake at a discount and tying the money to technical milestones. Infleqtion is also among nine companies selected for U.S. quantum‑grant programs and received $3.9 million for next‑generation chemistry research. The company showcased its quantum computer at Nvidia’s GTC 2026, highlighting integration with Nvidia’s NVQLink technology.
The broader industry is witnessing a rapid convergence of artificial intelligence and quantum computing. Major firms such as IBM, Google, Nvidia, and several Chinese tech giants are developing hybrid AI‑quantum platforms, supported by record private and government investment, including the $2.013 billion CHIPS Act quantum package. Early commercial applications are emerging in drug discovery, molecular simulation and complex optimization, underscoring the strategic importance of the quantum‑AI merger.
