Influencer arrested for abusing puppy in Mato Grosso do Sul

Influencer Maria Gabriela Cervantes Pereira was arrested in Aquidauana, Mato Grosso do Sul, after a video surfaced showing her throwing and kicking her own 40-day-old shih-tzu puppy. In the recording, Pereira is heard shouting at the animal to “call the delegate” to pay for its veterinary bills during the assault.

Following the video's viral spread, local police arrested Pereira in flagrante delicto. The Environmental Military Police also issued an administrative citation for animal cruelty. The puppy, described by authorities as being in an apathetic and frightened state, was rescued and is undergoing medical examinations to check for potential fractures. The animal remains under the care of the Civil Police while legal proceedings continue.
